Masses of novel mothers acquire stretch marks through and at the end of pregnancy. These are the consequence of the skin which has been stretched to the maximum and even beyond its maximum limit. This causes the collapse of the collagen formation that occurs beneath and as it attempts to interweave itself again to the normal state, these marks are the disfigured effects.

Feeling self conscious or ashamed due to the stretch marks is not at all healthy for the self esteem or for the self-image. There are various common sites to find these stretch marks that include buttocks, breasts, stomach, back and upper arms. The appearance of stretch marks at these sites is very depressing to the women. The following can act as a measure for stretch mark treatment.

a) Drinking a lot of water helps in keeping the body hydrated that in turn keeps the skin hydrated and helps prevent the stretch marks.

b) Consumption of the food products which contain a sufficient amount of the vitamins, especially vitamin A, C and E.

c) Making of a routine for exercise and strictly following the same also helps in reduction of the stretch marks appearance.
